Bryan A. Elwood

A U.S. licensed Customs Broker with more than three decades of experience in international trade, customs, and cross-border business.

U.S. Customs Broker License No. 43342

Throughout his career, Bryan has worked extensively with customs compliance, import and export requirements, tariff classification, country of origin, valuation, trade remedies, and other issues affecting companies engaged in international commerce. He has led customs audits and compliance reviews from both the corporate and professional-services sides and has substantial experience with antidumping and countervailing duty matters.

Before entering the private sector, Bryan served in senior international trade positions with the Government of Mexico. He was a member of Mexico’s NAFTA negotiating team, participated in Mexico’s accession to the OECD, and represented Mexico at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). He also advised Mexico’s Minister of Trade on major bilateral trade matters with the United States and was appointed by the governments of the United States, Mexico, and Canada as an expert in the resolution of unfair trade disputes.

In the private sector, Bryan spent more than a decade as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of a global commodities trading company, where customs compliance, international supply chains, and cross-border transactions were part of the day-to-day business.

Today, Bryan brings that experience directly to his work as a Customs Broker, helping importers move goods efficiently, maintain strong customs compliance, identify potential problems early, and navigate the complexities of importing into the United States.
